WHIPLASH’s first minnow was developed around the concept of “steady on the retrieve, acrobatic on the jerk.” After meticulous hand-tuning and countless rounds of testing, the result is a truly versatile minnow designed to excel in a wide range of situations.

On a slow retrieve, it produces a steady, tight-rolling action with subtle wobble and a distinct flash. At high speeds, the wobble increases while the lure maintains excellent straight-line stability. Surprisingly, it also performs exceptionally well in strong current.

When jerked with vertical rod inputs, the lure darts sharply and flashes out of the way. With subtle twitches, it produces an erratic body-rolling, side-flashing action, even appearing to twist and writhe through the water. These unpredictable movements are designed to trigger the predatory instincts of fish.

The body is also built with larger, stronger targets in mind, using a 1.1 mm body thickness—approximately 10% thicker than standard. All of the line ties have been reinforced and enlarged as well, allowing the lure to accommodate slightly larger split rings than standard.
